Hey, ladies, I apologize. I am getting this post to you a bit late. The end of tax season is eating my lunch!
Do you like "pretty"? Do you like purple? If so, you've come to the right place this week. The colors in this week's kit are a little more muted and the patterns a little softer. This is a wonderful kit if you'd like to scrap any feminine layout or any layout fir heritage photos. It's also versatile enough to handle a masculine layout and I'll defintely show you one of those this week. Anyway, I'm brain fried so I need to stop talking and just show you this beautiful kit.
If you want, the papers, elements, and/or alphas are available separately, also at sale prices. I'll show you those too.
Check back later as I do have a marvelous freebie with this kit!
EDITED TO ADD:
"Later" has arrived. Here's that freebie I promised you. I really hate receiving small freebies. This has enough papers to be classified as a "mini-kit" by some designers and some really nice elements too. It coordinates with As Time Goes By, the kit featured above so if you need additional elements or alphas or whatever, check out the store at A Cherry on Top.
You can find the page on Facebook for HotFlashDesigns here. I hope you love this and feel it's a worthwhile freebie. I'd be thrilled if you took a minute to say thanks!
I have a really great kit for you. It's at Scrapbook Elements and is just exactly the kind of kit you need for summer Barbeques. Let me show you:
If you'd prefer, you can buy just the elements, just the papers, or just the alphas.
AND, we have the whole nine yards when it comes to extras:
Everything is on sale Sunday and Monday. What a perfect way to record your 4th of July memories. Even if you don't "grill", these bright summery colors are just super for summer pages.
When I created this kit, I had created some traditional textured solids to go with it. Then I created the embossed solids (which are included in the kit) and couldn't figure out which to use. What I've done, finally, is include the embossed solids in the kit and put the traditional textured solids together to offer to you as a freebie. Here's a look at the freebie:
I've been promising a freebie for days and I have finally gotten it all pulled together. I apologize for the delay. Anyway, it is a fall mini. It coordinates with my fall kit, We Give Thanks, if you want more in this color scheme.
My original thought was just to give you the papers, but I hate chintzy freebies, so I made some elements to go with it. It coordinates with my Thanksgiving kit, as I mentioned, but I think you could scrap some very pretty fall pages with this....... You can find it here. It's been a while since we've had a blog freebie, so it was time. :) If you're interested in the full kit that matches this, you'll find it in the HotFlashDesigns store at A Cherry on Top.
I am LATE, LATE, LATE today. I woke up late and then I did the CT post. Also enlisted a new CT member. I'm not quite sure what happened to the next hour and a half. I know I got dressed somewhere in there and caught up on Facebook and e-mails. Oh, I did cruise through the gallery at A Cherry on Top and leave some praise on a few layouts as well.
Lately, I have been waking up before it gets light outside. Since I don't have to leave the house to go to a job job, I have this whole rebellious thing going on toward getting up to start my day when it's still night outside. So, I tend to lie back down and the next thing I know it's hours later. This is not necessarily a good thing!
We have clouds in the forecast for today and the next 4 days. I hope some of those clouds contain some rain that will be dumped on us! Funny thing: We are supposed to be aiming for a high of 68 degrees, but the current temperature is 69. Somehow I find that a little bit confusing, LOL.
Last spring, I had a client show up at my door with a sack from Walmart. She had bought me 4 winter tops on clearance. It was too warm too fast for me to do more than wear one of them once. However, I have been wearing them some the last few weeks, and I really like them. They are really soft, chenille, maybe, and big and baggy and comfortable like I like them. They have a knitted-in vertical pattern to them. And such pretty jewel tones. I'm really enjoying them.
So, I am doing my "crooked woman" thing again. It's pretty obvious when you're wearing a top with knitted-in vertical stripes. I have been praying over the symptoms and I know this mess is healed. I WILL NOT accept it. I have heard at least 5 "thunks" in my lower back, indicating that something has gone back into place, but the pain persists. It is not horrible pain, but it's there and it's definitely bothersome, as satan intended, I'm sure. Anyway, if you are a pray-er, please pray.
In years past, there were a lot of days when, just to sit in this chair, I had to wear a back brace. Otherwise, it hurt too much to bear. Those days are gone. I attribute that to the "God that heals me" and to the fact that I am getting stronger every day. So, we're definitely on the upswing here!
So, yesterday, I worked on the snow kit and grabbed a color scheme for a more sophisticated snow kit to do shortly. I have a bunch of glittered snowflakes for the kit and some flowers, but I still have a ways to go.......
I managed to leave the kitchen in reasonably decent shape last night so, that was a pleasant sight when I walked in there this morning. I also managed to get through all but three book cases with the dusting last night. I can finish those up in a jiffy and then I need to move on to the living room. I got all the paperwork filled out to renew my notary bond and also paid for the new stamp. I still need to get some info filled out on the Secretary of State's website for that. I'm on short time here so I think I should have that ready for when I receive the bond info back.
Today, around here, there's the dusting--the three book cases out here, in the living room, and in the dining room. I'm still working on paying bills and making small improvements to the surface of the desk. And, I'm supposed to be deleting e-mail, unzipping files, and advertising. Advertising takes first place today since I managed to get that freebie up, finally.
Next up is to find something to eat. Then the advertising. I need to toddle off because it's late. YOU be BLESSED today!
Sometimes I feel like I have a split personality. That is primarily because HotFlashDesigns and I share this blog! I did an early morning post for me, but now it's time to give HotFlashDesigns equal time.
I am so excited about the product I have for you this week. It is truly unique. Unique for me as far as product line, and something unique you're gonna love. If you have kids. If you have grandkids. If you like fun parties, even for adults.......
There is so much in this pack that I couldn't show it all. I tried to "smush" it all in, but I couldn't. This pack contains: 4 bag toppers, 4 chocolate bar wrappers, 6 circle toppers/stamps, 6 water bottle wrappers, 4 treat boxes (like take-out french fry containers), 6 straw flags, invitations, a blank thank you note, and a fill-in-the-blanks thank you note.
If you want additional graphics, you can take a look at the You're Super kit in the HotFlashDesigns store at A Cherry on Top. You could print out the papers and create a great hanging banner. You could print out the stars and items like the "blam" and "ka-pow" words and hang them on strings from the ceiling. I just know you have even more creative ideas. (Please send me the photos. I'm so excited to see what you do with this. My e-mail is in the tou.)
YOU SHOULD ALSO KNOW THAT MY ENTIRE STORE IS ON SALE, 40% OFF. THIS INCLUDES THIS GREAT PARTY SET. GRAB IT NOW! SALE ENDS MONDAY NIGHT.
IF you're a digiscrapper, don't forget this GORGEOUS freebie. Just go to the HotFlashDesigns Facebook page, "like" it, and click the exclusive button to download. And, if you download, would you please share the post for the exclusive in our timeline. Because of Facebook's throttling of ads, I'm having a hard time getting the word out........
Have a wonderful weekend! If you're a digi scrapper, it's a shop-til-you-drop weekend. If you're not a digi scrapper, why not? Oops. Well, anyway, if you're not a digi scrapper, have a fabulous weekend NOT shopping for digi scrap supplies!!!!!!!!!!
NOTE: this freebie has been replaced and is no longer available through Facebook. However, you can now find it (and even more goodies added to it) in the HotFlashDesign store at A Cherry on Top.
Father's Day is comin'! Are you ready? Have you got special plans to honor the Dads and special men in your life? How will you record those memories, those special moments? How will you tell their stories? We have a kit for Father's Day that I think you are going to love! It's called No Ordinary Man and it looks like this:
No Ordinary Man is offered for sale exclusively at A Cherry on Top in the HotFlashDesigns shop. You will find it at 30% off during the introductory period. That's a deal!
You can buy just the elements, just the papers, or just the alphas if you'd prefer.
We also have some gorgeous specialty items that coordinate with this kit, just for you, and also on sale.
We also have a gorgeous freebie that goes with this kit. Sara, one of the ladies on my creative team, made these beautiful printable cards for you. Just print them out, fold them and write your own "Hallmark" sentiment in them.
"Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance." So one of my former bosses was famous for saying. When I'm creating a kit, I don't necessarily plan out the papers. I know what I think the mood of the kit is and if it's a theme-y kit I know I want a few theme-y papers. If it's not necessarily theme-y but it is "masculine" or "feminine" this will also dictate my patterns on papers. I created one paper with the puppy kit that I don't like. I didn't "plan" it, I just knew what I wanted to use in terms of the graphics and went with it. When I finally got to 14 papers, I decided I'd try to "fix" the paper I didn't like. I decided it was too dark and I wanted to lighten it up.
Here's where zoom and magnifiers come in. I started by trying to turn a bunch of brown dots into white dots. These were TINY dots. And because of my failure in the Proper Prior Planning department, I couldn't do it the easy way. I guess I should have known ahead of time, as I was creating the paper, that I was going to hate it. So, shoot me. I didn't know. So, I have been sitting here with my magnifiers perched on the end of my nose and zoomed way in close in Photoshop, pouring white paint into brown dots. 684 brown dots to turn white. Believe me, without zoom and magnifiers, this would be impossible. Even with it being possible, it's incredibly time consuming. And, the epitome of the failure of Proper Prior Planning--when I got all done with the "fix" it still didn't work for me and ended up in the trash! I'll be unhappy with myself over that one for a while!
Now, as to spelling..... Sometimes my fingers don't know how to spell. My brain is an excellent speller and rarely makes a spelling mistake. I mostly ignore spell check even where it exists because it's just not a feature I need. But, I could sit here and "cluck" all day over other people's spelling. Not long ago I was reading something written by someone I know had a decent education. However, somewhere along the line, apparently no one taught her "i before e except after c". I had occasion to learn that rule really well when I blew top place in the Sixth Grade Volusia County Spelling Bee by spelling neither "niether". I suppose my friend should have participated in more spelling bees........ And, the number of people who can't figure out the sound-alikes floors me. For example, their and there. The other day I was reading a blog of a person who is actually compensated for blogging. One would look for a certain degree of professionalism there. I just loved reading about how they had "waisted" their time. That's one sound-alike I've never seen screwed up before. And please don't get me started on grammar. Yes, on occasion I end a sentence with a preposition. Mrs. Wright, my 8th grade English teacher, who made me diagram sentences til I wanted to shoot her would roll over in her grave if she saw that. But, most of the time I realize I have done it and elect not to fix it because I want what I've written to sound more like the way people actually speak. Here's one from a recent Facebook post by a person who shall remain nameless: "I have several people's newsfeed blocked......." If it's several, it's newsfeeds not "newsfeed". I am very much in favor of immigrants from other countries learning English; I just wish Americans would do the same.
As you know, if you've read the top post, I have a very nice mini kit up for grabs on the HotFlashDesigns Facebook page. However, it's Memorial Day and I wanted to do a bit more. So, I decided to make a freebie for here on the blog. I just did this this morning. I might otherwise have done a prettier preview, but in the interest of time and getting this to you today, it is what it is. Here's what it looks like:
I would love to tell you I sprang from my bed full of p & v at 5:30AM and I've been going strong since. I'd love to tell you that, but it would be a lie. I did indeed crawl out of bed even before 5:30AM, but once I got this week's kit in the store, I crawled back in. I've been in the process of easing into my day ever since. So, I'm a bit later than usual with this post, but here we go.........
Gorgeousness. At least I think so. This week's kit is full of gorgeousness. This kit is full of soft colors and beautiful patterned papers and lace and flowers--all intended to help you scrap one of the most beautiful mother's day pages ever, or even make a fantastic card for your very own mom or special lady in your life.
A Mother's Love is offered exclusively for sale in my A Cherry on Top store. It is 30% off on introductory special.
If you for some reason don't want the whole kit but would love to buy just the elements or just the papers or just the alphas, you can do that too. Here are the previews:
Of course the "separates" as we call them, the elements, papers, and alphas, are on sale 30% off as well.
Our stacked papers and word art are so popular. I can't help but think that is because they are so beautifully done and are such a great place to start your creativity flowing.
And, along the same lines, to jumpstart your creativity, take a look at the gorgeous templates we have to offer you this week:
Now tell me about the beautiful things you plan to create with all these goodies. Everything on sale....does it get any better? I don't think so.....
And don't forget the freebie, made with The Mighty Jungle Rewind, last week's new kit, which is still available. You can use the link above to get to my store and check out The Mighty Jungle in detail if you'd like. The freebie looks like this:
And you can find it here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/RvN2sRbG/HFD_TMJ_Freebie.html
Have a wonderful week! If you stop by mid week or so, you just might find a new and different free item to enjoy.
I designed 3 "fall" kits this year. The first two were kind of "grown up" and "serious". I worked hard on them and they turned out well. This kit was FUN. I hope you think of a bunch of ways you can use these pretty papers and cute graphics--to scrap your Thanksgiving dinner, to scrap your kitchen mishap or whatever you made you forgot to bring to the table, to scrap all the cute things your children tell you they are thankful for........
Everything will be on sale for 30% off as usual, except see below with regard to today and tomorrow--a chance to save an extra 10%. You can buy the full kit or just the elements or just the papers or just the alphas. Or, you can buy these:
Gorgeous stacked papers and word art that will make your pages come alive!
Now, about that extra 10%. AND a FREEBIE!
You can find the freebie in my ACOT store here. I thought I'd try this and see if it's any easier for you than the long waits on a busy day on 4shared. I hope you are having a great iDSD weekend! Please remember the freebie is free only Saturday and Sunday and the sale ends Sunday night as well. After that just my newest products will be on sale at 30%off.
