gOD'S AMAZING PROVISION

tHE BIBLE SAYS THAT HE WILL SUPPLY ALL MY NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN CHRIST JESUS.i HAVE NEEDED "A BABYSITTER"--SOMEONE TO FIX ME SOMETHING TO EAT, SOMEONE TO EMPTY THE POTTY CHAIR, MAYBE MAKE ME A CUP OF COFFEE.THIS WOMAN WHO HAS COME TO HELP ME WAS TOTALLY UNKNOWN TO ME 10 DAYS AGO. SHE IS A FRIEND OF A FRIEND. AS BEST I CAN TELL, SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO MEDICAL TRAINING. SHE STARTED ABOUT 9:30 BY GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE AND PICKING UP AN ORDER FOR ME. SHE HAS NEVER PICKED UP AN ORDER BEFORE BUT SHE GOT IT DONE. SHE CARRIED IN ALL THE BAGS FROM HER CAR AND PUT EVERYTHING AWAY. SHE MADE ME COFFEE AND REFILLED MY WATER TUMBLERS. SHE CLEANED OUT THE POTTY CHAIR CONTAINER AND MADE SURE TO SANITIZE IT WITH A BIT OF BLEACH.AT MY REQUEST, SHE PULLED OUT THE DYSON WITH WHICH SHE WAS TOTALLY UNFAMILIAR AND VACUUMED. I SPECIFIED SHE WAS ONLY TO VACUUM THE WALKWAYS. SHE TRACKED DOWN ROOMIE AND GOT HER BACK ON HER CHARGER. SHE MADE ME A NICE LUNCH--LEFTOVERS FROM THE THANKSGIVING FEAST SHE MADE AND CLEANED UP THE KITCHEN. BEFORE SHE LEFT SHE FIXED ME A PLATE OF FRESH FRUIT AND CRACKERS AND CHEESE TO MUNCH ON THIS EVENING. 

I COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR ANYTHING MORE. WHEN GOD PROVIDES, HE SURE DOES A GOOD JOB OF IT,

I NEVER REALLY HAD ANY DESIRE TO LEARN ABOUT ZOOM. BUT IT SEEMS THIS IS THE MANNER OF COMMUNICATION PREFERRED AT THE COMPANY WHERE I WILL BE WORKING. PERSONALLY, I'D BE THRILLED ABOUT NOW IF ZOOM DIDN'T SEND OUT A VISUAL IMAGE. i CANNOT EVEN PROPERLY BRUSH MY HAIR. aND i AM INCREDIBLY HAPPY ZOOM DOESN'T CONTAIN A SMELLOVISION COMPONENT. sINCE i FELL i'VE HAD ONE VERY BRIEF SPONGE BATH. i'M ACTUALLY EMBARRASSED TO HAVE J HERE. I'M AFRAID MY "SCENT" MUST BE QUITE OFFENSIVE BY NOW. I AM CURRENTLY SCHEDULED TO SPEAK TO THE HONCHO AT 11 AM TUESDAY. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT HIS PURPOSE IS IN REQUESTING THIS CALL. pOSSIBLY IT IS JUST SO HE CAN GET A DECENT NIGHT'S SLEEP. i'VE BEEN PRAYING GOD WILL KEEP ME ON HIS MIND ALL DA AND ALL NIGHT UNTIL WE GET ALL THIS STRAIGHTENED OUT AGAIN.

aS FOR ME, THIS IS MY JOB. I REFUSE TO ALLOW A CERTAIN EVIL BEING TO STEAL IT. I BELIEVE IT WAS SENT BY GOD IN ANSWER TO FERVENT  PRAYER FOR A BETTER-PAID, PHYSICALLY EASIER JOB. I AM STANDING IN FAITH FOR THIS THING TO BE WORKED OUT AND I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

AS TO THOSE OF YOU, MY SISTERS, WHO LIVE AT A DISTANCE AND WANT TO HELP ME, THE BIGGEST HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES IS TO HELP ME PRAY IN PHYSICAL HEALING AND THIS JOB. J KEEPS ME FED, SUPPLIES ME WITH WATER, EVEN DEALS WITH THE NASTY BED PAN. BUT I AM PRETTY WELL CONVINCED SHE KNOWS NOTHING OF GOD OR PRAYER. I GUESS IT IS MY OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD HER IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. 

SUCCESS........

jUST TOOK MY EVENING "WALK".i MADE IT TO THE THERMOSTAT. lAST NIGHT i STOPPED AT THE END OF THE PIANO. itHE THERMOSTAT IS PROBABLY 7-8 FEET BEYOND THE END OF THE PIANO, ACROSS THE ENTRYWAY. SO, CONIDERING MY EARLIER "WALK", i WOULD SAY i HAVE DONE ABOUT 200 STEPS TODAY AND JUST 114 YESTERDAY.    iT'S NOT FAST AND IT'S NOT GRACEFUL, BUT i STILL COUNT IT A SUCCESS.

WHEN I AM WEAK THEN HE IS STRONG

sO, I'VE TAKEN ONE WALK TODAY FROM THE DESK TO THE FAR WALL OF THE LIVING ROOM. HOWEVER, I'VE BACKED OFF THE MUSCLE RELAXERS AND THE RETURN TRIP TO MY CHAIR WAS PRETTY PAINFUL. i FINALLY TOOK ONE OF THE REMAINING MUSCLE RELAXERS AND I'LL TRY FOR ANOTHER WALK TONIGHT. THIS AFTERNOON I WAS ACCOMPANIED BY "J", MY HELPER. TONIGHT I'LL BE ON MY OWN AGAIN. I'M NOT SURE WHAT J WOULD  DO IF I WENT DOWN--SHE'S A LITTLE THING. I'M CONFIDENT SHE'D GIVE IT HER MAXIMUM EFFORT THOUGH.

MY FEET AND LEGS ARE QUITE SWOLLEN. I AM THINKING THAT IS THE RESULT OF THE FACT THAT I'M UNABLE TO MOVE AROUND MUCH. MOST LIKELY IT WILL IMPROVE AS I FORCE MYSELF TO MOVE. I DO HAVE A STASH OF DIURETICS AND I'VE TAKEN ONE. i HAVE ENOUGH FOR QUITE A FEW MORE DAYS, IF NEEDED. 

j MANAGED TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE CHAIR WHICH HELPS IMMENSELY IN TRYING TO STAND. SHE ALSO GOT THE CANE SHORTENED SO THAT I CAN BRING MORE OF MY ARM MUSCLES INTO PLAY IN USING IT. IT MAKES ME MUCH MORE STABLE.

mY IMMEEDIATE GOAL IS TO BE ABLE TO WALK WELL ENOUGH SO THAT I CAN SLEEP IN MY BED AND STILL MAKE IT TO THE POTTY CHAIR IF NEED BE. 

I HAVE SOME PRAYER NEEDS: MORE STRENGTH IN MY LEG MUSCLES WHICH HAVE DETERIORATED FROM DISUSE, RELIEF OF THE LAST OF THE PAIN, AND RELIEF IN THE SWELLING OF Y FEET AND LEGS.

 

 

WEAKLING

DO YOU REMEMBER THOSE ADS THAT TALKED ABOUT 90 LB WEAKLINGS? i'M NOT DOWN TO 90 POUNDS THOUGH i'M LIVING ON 2 M3ALS A DAY PLUS AN ENSURE AND i WENT FOR MORE THAN A WEEK IN THE HOSPITAL EATING NEXT TO NOTHING. i HAVE BECOME A WEAKLING, HOWEVER. i AM SHOCKED AT HOW LITTLE STRENGTH i HAVE RIGHT NOW. i FORCED MYSELF TO FACE UP TO THE PAIN AND WALKED TO THE KITCHEN. iT TOOK A GOOD  LONG TIME AND GETTING BACK WAS QUITE A CHALLENBE (AND A RELIEF). BUT I MUST BE ABLE TO GET FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER WITHIN THE HOUSE IF  I'M EVER TO SLEEP IN MY OWN BED AGAIN. AND, TRUTHFULLY, I'M GETTING BUTT-SORE FROM THIS CHAIR EVEN WITH EXTRA CUSHIONING. 

IN THAT I COMPLETED THAT MISSION AT A RELATIVELY EARLY HOUR, I SHOULD TRY TO DO IT AGAIN AFTER A WHILE. I HAVE TO BUILD UP MY STRENGTH. iT STILL SEEMS AS THOUGH VERY GRADUALLY THE MUSCLE SPASM IN MY LEG IS FADING, THAT WILL HELP A LOT.

 

MIRACLE WORKER

yOU KNOW THAT THE BIBLE SAYS HE WILL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS. BELIEVE IT, FOLKS. MY FRIEND'S "FRIEND OF A FRIEND" (FOR MY EASE WE'RE GOING TO CALL HER J) IS A GODSEND, AT MY REQUEST, SHE JUST CAME AND SPENT ONE HOUR HERE ON THANKSGIVING DAY! SHE STOPPED AT THE GROCERY STORE AND SHOWED UP WITH TWO BAGS OF FOOD. WITHIN THAT ONE HOUR SHE FIXED ME AN EXCELLENT MEAL--HAM WITH RAISIN SAUCE, AUGRATIN POTATOES, GREEN  BEANS, CARROTS AND TOMATO SLICES). SHE EVEN SHOWED UP WITH A SMALL SIZED BOTTLE OF WINE AND CARROT CAKE FOR DESSERT. aLL OF THAT WAS SERVED TO ME HERE AAT THE DESK. THEN SHE CLEANED UP FROM THE COOKING, EMPTIED THE NASTY CONTAINER FROM THE COMMODE, DRIED A BLANKET, AND MADE ME A FRESH CUP OF COFFEE. i FEEL LIKE A QUEEN--A DISABLED QUEEN, BUT STILL A QUEEN. hAD I BEEN HERE ALONE WITH THE ABILITY TO DO WHAT I WANTED, I PROMISE YOU I WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE SO WELL BY ME.

I HAVE TO GET MORE MOBILE, INSPITE OF THE PAIN. nIGHT BE FORE LAST I MADE IT TO THE DOORWAY INTO THE LIVINGROOM. LAST NIGHT I MADE IT ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE LIVING ROOM. MY GOAL FOR TODAY IS TO MAKE IT ACROSS THE ENTIRE LIVING ROOM. tHEN, GIVEN A CUP WITH A DECENT LID, I MIGHT EVEN BE ABLE TO GET MYSELF SOME WATER OR EVEN MAKE A CUP OF COFFEE.

aNYWAY, IT WASN'T EASY FINDING J, BUT SHE CERTAINLY IS HEAVEN-SENT-- A TRUE BLESSING IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW.

5 NIGHTS IN A ROW

TONIGHT FOR THE FIFTH NIJHT IN A ROW i WILL SLEEP IN THIS CHAIR. I'M GETTING TIRED OF IT. I DON'T KNOW THAT I COULD MAKE IT TO THE BEDROOM. BUT, IF I COULD, THE NEED TO PEE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC. I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET OFF THE TOILET, BUT, IF BY SOME CHANCE i COULD, I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MAKE THE WALK BACK TO THE BED. sO HERE i SIT WITH A "COMMODE" ABOUT 5 FEET FROM THE CHAIR AND A CANE TO HELP ME GET FROM HERE TO THERE. tHE COMMODE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE WHEN I GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL BUT IT WASN'T. sO FOR THE FIRST 16 OR SO HOURS, IF i HAD TO PEE, I HAD TO TR Y TO PEE IN A CUP.

tHE FOLLOWING MORNING A FRIEND WENT TO CVS PHARMACY FOR ME. SHE PICKED UP SOME OF THE MEDS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN TO ME WHEN I LEFT THE HOSPITAL. SHE ALSO PICKED UP THE "COMMODE" THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED TO THE HOUSE BEFORE I EVEN GOT HERE. MY FRIEND MADE SURE I WAS FED AND TAKEN CARE OF. SHE ALSO ASSEMBLED THE "COMMODE" WITH A LITTLE ANALYTICAL AND SUPERVISORY HELP FROM ME. SHE WAS UNABLE TO COME THE NEXT DAY BUT ROUNDED UP THE NAME OF A CNA WHO COULD HELP OUT ON DAY TWO. THE CNA DROPPED IN FOR EXACTLY 1 HOUR AND THEN LEFT. sHE DID MANAGE TO REFILL MY TUMBLER OF WATER AND TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE COMMODE TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR ME TO GET ONTO AND OFF OF. fOR DAY 3 i HAD A FRIEND OF MY FRIEND FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS. i HAD BEEN EXISTING ON SOME COOKIES AND LIFE SAVERS. FRIEND OF FRIEND GOT ME FOOD, WENT TO THE STORE AND GOT ME SOME PROTEIN DRINKS AND DID NUMEROUS OTHER TASKS FOR ME. FRIEND OF FRIEND CAME BACK FOR 5 HOURS TODAY. TOMORROW SHE WILL COME FOR ONLY 1 HOUR. WELL, AT LEAST SHE'LL MAKE ME SOMETHING TO EAT AND EMPTY THE CONTAINER ATTACHED TO THE COMMODE.

THE NIGHT I GOT HOME I E-MAILED MY DAUGHTER AND MY NEW EMPLOYER, LETTING THEM KNOW I WAS HOME. tHE NEXT MORNING MY NEW BOSS E-MAILED TO TELL ME HE WAS RESCINDING THE OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT. i THINK i AM BECOMING AN ADULT, SPIRITUALLY. I KEPT MY COOL, PRAYED ABOUT IT, CLAIMED THAT JOB AS MINE, AND REBUKED SATAN. AS FAR AS i WAS CONCERNED THIS WAS JUST AN INCIDENCE OF SATAN TRYING TO STEAL WHAT GOD MEANT AS AN AMAZING BLESSING. I'VE BEEN READING BACK THROUGH OUR CORRESPONDENCE AND CONCLUDED THIS MIGHT SIMPLY BE BECAUSE THE MAN DID NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT HAD HAPPENED. SO I SAT HERE AND TYPED OUT THE WHOLE CHRONOLOGY AND E-MAILED IT TO HIM. WE  ARE NOW GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER ZOOM CALL TUESDAY MORNING. WE SHALL SEE..............

Well, hello there.

Remember me? I am home now after 8 days in the hospital. Home now about 27 hours. What a thorough foing hot mess it's been. (Excuse typos. My left hand has been a little bollicksed up for a while now. Tonight I'm trying to type with my right hand in a massive cast from the base of my fingers to beyond my elbow)

Anyway my wrist is fractured with emen  more fun via a muscle spasm in my right groin. I have reached that age where I niid my hands to stand up from a sitting position. Over a week ago I fell fracturing my wrist. Simultaneously I managed to set off the muscle spasm. I sat here inmy chair for 24 hours and finally gave in and called an ambulance. They took mr to a hospital where they said the emergency room wouldn't keep me waiting for hours. In retrospect I figure that's because no one wants to go there. They set tje wrost bone fairly quickly and hit me  up with some morphine to make me loopy though it didn't do much for the  pain. 

The nest morning, two guys from physical therapy arrived and told me I was going to walk to the restroom. I nearly let out a scream when they finally managed to get me upright. Every step was excruciatingly painful. It hurt like crazy to try to move my right leg and it hurt just as much when I transferred my weight to my right leg so I could step with my left. By the time I got to the bathroom,, there was no way I could sit down. I collapsed into a sobbing mass. Somehow I ended up back in bed and the PT guys pronounced me too weak to walk. I wasn't weak>I was in horrible pain. 

It took me days to taaalk the nursing staff into starting me on muscle relaxers and then they gave me some that have never been very effective on me. But at least someone had finally acknowledged that something beyond my wrist needed attention. On the fifth day they decided to do a CTacan on myright hip. NOT broken. Gee, maybe it really IS a muscle spasm.

That's all I can manage for now.

21 Days

I keep hearing it. No, not out loud. It just keeps popping into my head. I go to the bathroom and I think "21 days". I walk outside to get the mail and I find myself thinking "21 Days". I eat a bowl of oatmeal and I'm thinking "21 Days". 21 Days, 21 Days, 21 Days......... It just keeps happening.

I do not believe that God's remnant prayed over and over for this country, for our President. and those prayers have come to naught. God has called himself our Father. If your Dad, your earthly Dad, heard you ask the same thing fervently over and over, would he grant your request? I say yes, if it couldn't hurt you and he had the power to do so. Why would our Heavenly Father treat you less well? I don't think so. People say you have to pray in faith. Could you have prayed "better" prayers? Maybe, but I submit that the moment you prayed, the very act of praying was faith filled. Had you not believed that God could and would grant your request, why would you have wasted your time/breath? 

Have you read the Old Testament? Okay, name me one battle God lost. And how often were the battles won in "normal" ways? Remember Jericho? Remember Gideon and his band of 300? Remember Moses, the Red Sea and the Egyptians? Remember that great fight--Esther v. Haman? Remember the story of the four lepers who caused the enemy to startle awake and kill each other? Remember Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego? Remember Daniel in the Lion's den?  This is the God who saves His faithful from floods, fires, wild animals. who intervenes in battles, who heals the lame, restores sight to the blind, cleanses the lepers and restores their appendages. This is the God who does more than we could ask or imagine. 

Remember, this is the God who blesses those who bless Israel. Remember 3 peace treaties and a US embassy in Jerusalem. Proverbs 6:16-19 gives us 7 things God hates: There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. Can you hang any of those things on the democrats? I can. How about abortion up until the moment of birth? Would that qualify as the shedding of innocent blood? Or, maybe we can lay some of those "peaceful protests" where stores were looted, churches were burned, policemen were injured, and elderly men and women were assaulted at the feet of the Democrats? And how about 138,000 votes tabulated in the middle of the night with not a single vote of the 138000 for Trump? Could we call that part of a "wicked scheme"? I could go on. Feel free to fill in the blanks in the comments.

I say do not give up. Pray with even more fervor. Smile. Hold your head up. Do not give in to fear and doubt. Satan is the author of both. Fear is "false evidence appearing real". Does that sound anything like "fake news" to you? I am very anxious to see what happens around the 24th. Remember it took 21 days for Gabriel to appear before Daniel. He had to battle the demons before he could get through and call in reinforcements. However, he told Daniel his prayers were answered when he prayed............

I keep thinking...........

Of course, in some circumstances, thinking can be dangerous. However, not this time. 

One of the things that has bothered me SO MUCH about my current job is what it has done to my eating habits. I rarely eat breakfast. If I do, my mind is on scurrying around the kitchen and just getting it done so I can be ready to leave for work. About a year ago, CA passed a law that said that if you worked a 6 hour shift, you HAD to get one 15 minute break and one 30 minute "lunch". The company wanted to have a uniform way of handling the 30 minute lunch. They decided it would be "too complicated". So, suddenly, those of us who were working a 6 hour shift, though not in CA, were reduced to 5 hour shifts. Didn't matter to them that WE lost 16% of our pay when they did that. But, I digress............. You can stave off starvation with whatever you can shove into your mouth in 15 minutes, but you can't get much "nutrition". My particular situation was made more difficult because of dentures that tell me not to eat carrots or apples or other lunchbox staples. 

At the end of the shift I'd come home. Having left the term "spring chicken" in the dust years ago, I'd be so tired I'd be zombie-like. I'd shove into my mouth whatever took next to NO effort and call it dinner. A piece of cinnamon toast, a frozen dinner, or a candy bar or bag of chips. Whatever would fill up the empty hole that was my stomach with the least amount of effort. God forbid anyone had asked me to stand on my feet in the kitchen for more than 5 minutes. I'd probably have slugged 'em. 

Now, with the new job, things will be different. I shall arrive in the kitchen a few minutes after 5, perhaps mentally exhausted, but physically in better shape than in a couple of years. Further, at midday, I can wander to my own kitchen and eat something with a bit of nutrition. Who knows? I might even be together enough to manage a green smoothie for "breakfast". I am looking forward to these things.

As to exercise, I'm now going to have to work at it. On the current job, I walk anywhere from 2-3.5 miles a day. Always on concrete. Always in pain. I'm happy to announce I DO own a functional treadmill. I guess it will be used a lot more from here on in. 

Another change I expect is to need less medication. Lately, at work, I have been watching my oxygen level fall to borderline acceptable and my heart rate to accelerate to almost double that of a "normal" person. I was home yesterday and on half the recommended blood pressure medication, I found my heart rate to be about 5 beatsper minute faster than "normal" and my blood oxygen up where it ought to be nd my blood pressure to be close to where it should be as well. Obviously, being away from that place has a good effect on me.
