Here I am, in the city with the most sunny days per year, on an overcast day. It's hard to orient myself. Of course, the possibility exists that by afternoon the overcast will burn off, but for right now it's an unusual dreary day.
It's also chilly in the house this morning which is not unusual. I turn the heat down at night and shiver when I get up in the AM.
Yesterday was exciting. I had any number of nosebleeds. I don't know what that was about. A nosebleed in a person that takes a 325MG aspirin a day is pretty eventful! And I didn't have just one. No sirree. I had at least 3. Hopefully, whatever brought that on is behind me now.
So yesterday was dusting day. And considering I've been working on projects and not on the regular housekeeping, I did pretty well. In that I am using a more effective vacuum cleaner, the dust problem is not what it once was. Nowhere near as much build up. Thankfully. I got the whole way through the house save for about 2/3 of the master bedroom. Well, clients aren't going to be spending time in there so I can live with that. If I don't catch it up this week, I'll get it next week.
I vacuum today. I am hoping for an unexciting vacuuming experience. No exploding vacuum cleaner. No belts off track. Just push the vacuum around and be done with it.
I did do some ironing yesterday. Ironed a yummy silk shirt. Lovely creamy silk. Not sure it gets any better than that if you have to iron.
I have not been doing my list the last few days. Stupid. And after I wrote that post about how important a list is to me. I have been the living proof of that old adage: Fail to plan = plan to fail. It would be so nice to think that I am now truly convinced that not having a list is a pathway to a lack of productivity. So, today I will make a list and check it off and see if I can't get myself back on track.
Today, I think I will order tax software. I have held off as long as possible because of $$$. I needed some sort of assurance I'd make it through January with sufficient food in the house as well as heat and lights. Well, it's January 28th and I think it's safe, LOL. Tax software is very expensive, even though I order it in its cheapest possible format. Thanks be to God, I can ante up the money to buy it. This is the reason I've gone without stuff all year--to make sure I had the money to buy this silly software. So, today I'll get it done.
What I haven't done is order in any extra ink cartridges for the printer or buy a box of paper. I will have to face that next. The paper isn't bad, but the printer cartridges are pricey. And, I can't afford to run out of either "in the heat of battle". I don't want the expense or the time demands of finding printer cartridges in an emergency situation.
The software supplier finds a way to make it a bit more pricey every year without making it look that way. This past year, instead of letting the software be available forever, they made it "expire" on December 31. So, if anyone wanders in here who hasn't filed the 2012 return, I'll have to pay to do their return, even though I own software for 2012 returns. Cute, huh?
Tonight, I am supposed to give a speech. I have not really prepared for it YET. I don't need a whole lot of formal preparation. I will have to look up the auto mileage rate for 2013 returns. When you've done tax as long as I have, it's hard to remember what they've changed it to this year, LOL. Besides that sort of thing is automatically calculated by the software, so not usually a number I have to pull out of my head. However, I'll need to do that today. I also need to prepare some handouts as well and figure out what I'm wearing to look "professional". Vegas's definition of "professional" attire is vastly different from elsewhere, but I would prefer to be on the conservative side of Vegas's definition for tonight's "performance". And, I need to review a phone app website for an expense tracking program. It's rated pretty high, based on my initial review, but I need to look at it more closely if I'm going to talk about it.
On the design side, I now have two partially completed paper packs. 12 papers in one, 11 in the other. Guess in my "down time" I'll see what I can do about that.........
I started to make another batch of 5-can soup last night only to find I have no canned corn. I think it's un-American to have no canned corn in the house, isn't it? Well, I skipped it for now. I guess I'd better lay in some canned corn on the next trip to El Cheapo.
Day after tomorrow, Costco starts featuring a good deal on dogfood and I'll be there. They have 55 pound (an extra 3 pounds) bags for $5 off. There is a limit of 3 per customer. It will be fun watching me try to push 165 pounds of dogfood out of the store, dontcha think? I think 3 of those bags should get me through about 1/4 of the year. If I can go back and buy 3 more before the special price is gone, I should be set for months. Of course, getting all that home and dealt with will be grand fun (NOT), but it will help the budget. I don't know about going back for a second trip. My membership expires in February and I am debating whether or not to spend $55 to renew.
Well enough of all that. Let's look at some pretty Valentine's Day layouts and get on with the day!

Now here's a creative twist! Laura chose to scrap some Christmas photos with With My Whole Heart. All the red in this kit, however, works well with a Christmas theme as well as with Valentine's Day. Love the photos of family hugs, appropriate for Valentine's Day too. Love the simple design of this layout!

Deanna has layers and layers of goodies on this layout. So different from Laura's layout above, yet I really like them both. Love the combination of ric rak and scalloped edges. The roundness of the ric rak and scalloping and circular paper cuts really softens the "hard edges" of the rectangular photos!
Okay, I found a few more words to say today. And now it's time to get busy around here. YOU be BLESSED today!
