Just finished the weekly CT update. Once again, I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished this week in spite of "interference" with my computer.
Here's my "good morning" photo for you all, lifted from Facebook.

I slept better last night. Apparently my body has recovered from my slightly overdone workout from night before last. I had a twinge or two but other than that all was well. So, I'll be at it again this evening, stretching muscles that haven't been used enough of late.
It just occurred to me that I have one more way to save money on my power bill. Years ago I had a very badly constructed patio cover. I finally had to have it knocked down as it was about to fall down on someone's head and was a safety hazard. This patio cover shaded the french doors in this room and the bedroom window. So, of course, I never worried about solar film or solar screening on those areas. Well, now that the cover is gone, it seems like I should re-think this! Yes, the sun is on the other side during the hottest part of the day, but it's only 10AM and this room is already starting to warm up. I'm going to have to give this some thought! Yeah! While I'm at it, I guess I should try to do a solar screen for the dining room window too. It has film, but I know the screen would still be a help. I suppose I may as well break down and buy a sander while I'm at it. The paint on the french doors is flaking badly and the doors need to be sanded and repainted. It never stops.........
I now have all the papers completed for the "sea" kit. Time to load her up with elements! I'm liking what I have so far.
I need to do some advertising work today. Probably an hour's worth. And I need to do some uploads. And, my e-mail is well over 2000 at the moment so I need to delete e-mail. I spent half an hour on unzipping and organizing files last night. Still a long way to go on that and my hard drive is still in the red zone because it's overloaded. Got to get that down! And, of course, backups! Anyone know where I can get another me?
I just spoke to the vacuum cleaner repair guy. Apparently they are waiting on parts from Dyson. In the meantime, I either have to deal with doghair and dust everywhere or use the old vacuum to fight it as best I can.
I didn't get too far with the house yesterday. I did do some work in the hall bath. I plunged the tub a half dozen more times and it is draining much more like a bathtub should. I also checked on the toilet in there. I had turned the water off to the toilet to stop the running on. When I checked last night, there was still plenty of water in the tank. So, the problem is NOT the flapper. Darn. I'm pretty sure that means new toilet parts before the problem is fixed.
Well, all that should keep me out of trouble, LOL. I guess a trip to Lowe's is in the offing. Of course, I want an expensive sander. They make one now that vacuums up the bulk of the sawdust stuff when you are sanding. I do not have the ability to move things that need to be sanded. For example, next up, after the doors, I need to refinish my dining room table. The problem is not something that just stripping it will fix. The grain is actually messed up so it will have to be sanded to even out the surface. How am I going to get the dining room table out of the dining room by myself? I'm not........ So, a sander that doesn't fill the house with sanding dust is pretty much a necessity.
Here's a thought provoking photo, also from Facebook.

It says it's from the Family Policy Institute of Washington, in case you want to source it. Here is the caption that accompanies it: "This is what we all looked like at 12 weeks in the womb. Legal to kill in all 50 states. Anyone think its not a person? Pass this along. It literally might save a life." I don't know about you, but that sure looks like a person to me...... This photo really touched my heart.
Speaking of controversial issues, have you heard about the flap with Chick-fil-A? Chick-fil-A is a company family-owned by conservative Christians. Mr. Cathy, son of the current owner was interviewed. During the interview, he stated that he and his family back the Biblical view of marriage as between one man and one woman and he is proud to state that in his family, they are all still married to their first wives. That is my paraphrase of his comments, but I assure you I haven't left material anything out. Suddenly, Chick-fil-A has been told by the Mayor of Boston that they are not welcome in that city. Rahm Emanuel, Obama's sidekick early in the term, who is now mayor of Chicago, has taken the same position. The LGBT group is screaming its head off. Yet, all the man did was express his opinion, something that is totally legal in this country. Both the Mayor of Chicago and the Mayor of Boston are in violation of federal law!
Once again, anyone who expresses an opinion in favor of the Cathy family is being labeled "a hater" by the 1.7% of the population that admits to being gay. Yes, folks, that number is from the latest survey. 1.7%. I have problems with this "hater" label. First, I will freely admit that some misguided "Christians" may well "hate" Lesbians, Gays, Bis and Transvestites. They are misguided. The Bible plainly states that we are to hate the sin but LOVE THE SINNER. Anyone who is behaving in a manner contrary to this is, themselves, sinning. The other thing that tweaks me about the "hater" thing is that this is exactly the term that was used to describe Christians in the "Left Behind" series. Yeah, uh-huh, I think we really are in the last days.
Some of the LGBT folks like to believe there is no Biblical prohibition against these kinds of relationships. Well, as I see it, the very first Biblical statement that can be applied is in Genesis 1:26 where God charges Adam and Eve to "go forth and multiply". I just can't see how a member of the LGBT group can obey this command. How can a gay or lesbian couple "multiply"--as in procreate? Next, I would think, we would have to look at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. When angels came to warn Lot that the city would be destroyed due to its sin, the men of the city tried to batter down Lot's door because they wanted to have sex with the angels. If you remember, Lot's wife was turned to a pillar of salt for even looking back, yearning to return to a city that God had labeled evil. Her heart was not right. She would rather have stayed in that place than trust God to lead Lot and his family forward to a better future.
There are any number of commandments in God's word that I find difficult to obey. Not only do I find them difficult to obey, but sometimes I disobey them. Not maliciously, not with forethought. It just happens. For example, have you ever lost your temper and said things you shouldn't have? Yeah. Well, we are called upon to "repent" and "repent" means not just saying "I'm sorry" but to "change direction".
In any case, to the best of my knowledge, there is no Chick-fil-A in my area. I plan to Google it to find out for sure. If there were, I'd be eating chicken on August 1st in support of their Biblical way of operating their business and in protest of the verbal beating that is being dealt them for expressing it. Let me make it clear that there is absolutely NO charge of discrimination against this company. NONE. All this hubbub is simply over the expression of a conservative Christian viewpoint. Here's one final graphic for you to chew on:

Well, I'm thinking I've stirred the pot enough for one day. I need to go clean something!
