I sloughed off yesterday and didn't post. That is highly unusual for me and I can only say I was lost in the design world. I have another kit well under way. We'll call this one the "country" kit for purposes of discussion. All the papers are done, and it has 23 elements so far. It would have more, but my computer rebooted overnight and I got caught with elements which were not saved--again. I had NO expectation of the silly thing rebooting because I had rebooted it earlier in the evening. Oh, well, someday I'll learn! Anyway, I've now recreated the items I lost and more so I'm happy. I just wish the time spent recreating stuff could have been spent on creating new stuff, KWIM?
My mother's tax stuff arrived day before yesterday so I worked on her return yesterday. She forgot two things, one of which was very important and one of which turned out to be pretty inconsequential. She's in her nineties now and it's pretty remarkable that she did so well. I called her at 9:30 her time last night and told her what I needed. I had barely crawled out of bed this morning when the phone rang. It was her, calling with the info. She forgets there's a 3 hour time difference......... Apparently she had stayed up until midnight last night, searching. That was a little obsessive, but the return is done now and just needs to be printed and mailed to her.
I have a couple of other tax returns that need my attention today. One is not too tough--it might be but the client is extremely organized. She does an excellent job for an 86 year-old lady! It makes my job so much easier.
Well, the house is about to topple over under the weight of doghair and dust. I shall try to do something about that today. Truth is, I'd rather design, or do tax returns (in that order), than vacuum or dust. I also need to get some laundry done!
Today is going to be a smoothie day. It's been a couple of days since I've had one and I want the extra vitamins........ I have a bag of frozen tropical fruit and I'm going to see what I can do with that. I'll add a banana in as well. Sometime soon, I'm going to try a banana-orange-pineapple smoothie. I have frozen bananas. I bought 4 oranges. And, I have some canned pineapple. I really do wish it was possible to freeze pineapple! And, I wish it weren't so expensive!
I want to pick up some kiwis for smoothies. I think I am going to venture into Whole Foods for the first time in years. While El Cheapo will sell you cactus leaves (to do God knows what with), they do not have Kiwis. I wonder if WF has Chia seeds? I kind of plan on heading in the direction of Whole Foods anyway, because a drug store that is about halfway between my house and WF has milk on sale. I drained my last gallon today. That's 4 gallons in 16 days....... Now you see why I look for it on sale!
I also have to make it to the bank today. It's a HAVE TO. I just barely have enough in there to cover a bill I need to have paid by the 24th. Once that is paid, I'm plumb out of money if I don't make a deposit.
Let's do some eye candy, shall we? I think I'll give you 3 today to make up for yesterday's "oops".
Laura, aka Art_Teacher, did this page. When I look at all those circular cuts of paper, I think of boys and balls--softballs, baseballs, soccer balls.....I love the way the round paper pieces offset the squareness of the photos. I was also so happy to see that Laura made really good use of that folded paper border! Isn't this a cute layout?
Laurie, aka letumom, did this layout. Who would have thought you could scrap Disneyland with a kit full of St. Patrick's Day colors? This cute photo is of Laurie's DGD, meeting a giant sized Eyeore at Disneyland. She comments that her DGD has a stuffed Eyeore at home as well as other Pooh characters, so meeting this big Eyeore didn't frighten her DGD at all. I particularly like Laurie's title work on this. And, she surely went all out with the embellishments. Does a designer proud!
Deanna did this layout and I just love it. Again, I am amazed at the ways my CT ladies found to use this kit! I "never would have thought" it would be used for a beach layout, but it works perfectly! I love the grouping of doodled flowers in the foreground. I also think that white doily shape and frame behind the photos is a great idea. They draw the eye to the photos and lead the eye from photo to photo as well. Gorgeous layout!
Well, there you have it. That is truly all I have time for today (and more, if you want complete honesty). Please pray over my time management skills today and BE BLESSED!
