Well, I got an earlier start this morning than I do some days, so I'm checking in a little earlier. Also, I'm ready for a break.
So, what have I accomplished this morning? Well, I'm dressed, hair in a ponytail, and full makeup done. I am slowly re-learning how I used to apply make up. It's a little more trouble in the morning, but I'm a lot less likely to scare myself when I pass a mirror. I guess that means it's worth it.
The bed is made. It's kind of lumpy, but it's made. I happened onto a blog the other day that had a link to something that was supposed to guarantee your down comforter would stay where it was supposed to stay within your duvet. Well, I jumped right on that only to find the linked site was no longer valid. Pooh. I'm sure, if I had time to research it on the 'net, I could find something. However, I'd rather deal with lumpy than spend the time researching now. Besides, all my cash is spoken for, some of it several times over!
I've started another load of laundry from that stuff I carried out of the guest room the other day. I have really not begun this fight and I figure I've made at least 3 loads of laundry for myself!
The floors in the Hall bath and the entryway are clean. Still to be done: the kitchen floor.
I started trying to cull everything that is not clothing off the beds in the guest room so I can start sorting clothes. Haven't made it too far with that but I'll keep after it. I don't think I mentioned it, but I found at least 2 missing throw rugs! No idea how they got there (at least no idea I'm going to share), but I'm sure glad to have them back!
I did some kitchen cleanup and got the dishwasher going. The scary part in that is that there are some "fancy" serving dishes in there that were recovered from the guest room that I just don't have a place to put. Right now the china cabinet is full to the gills. So, in an hour, I'll have that dilemma to deal with and I really am at a loss as to what I'll do.
I've done a bit of design. Just a bit, but it beats nothing which is the some total of my design productivity for the last few days. I've also deleted a bunch of e-mails and dealt with more downloaded files.
All in all, not too bad for a morning's work. Since I've been hard at it for quite a while, next up will be finding food. I'm hungry! Then I'll be working on this desk and dusting before I start everything all over again. Amazing I don't get dizzy, LOL.
I've been listening to a sermon in the background when Mozilla manages to make a connection, grrrrrr. I listened to the whole thing with great patience required last night, but this morning, I just keep listening to the first 4-7 minutes, over and over......... The pastor who is preaching is fluent in both ancient Greek and modern Greek and has amassed some heavy duty knowledge in history from Biblical times. The combination of the Greek (enabling him to cull much more meaning from New Testament passages than most folks) and the history makes for some really rich and remarkable insights. WOW! I love this guy. His name is Rick Renner.
Rick Renner is pastor of a church in Moscow. 20 years ago, with a family, Rick and his wife Denise, emigrated to Russia. Russia was a much different place in the early 90's. He reports assassination attempts on staff members, burglary of his offices by the KGB, and visas he could only get extended 3 days (yes, I really do mean 3 days) at a time. That's what you might call persevering under opposition. His 3 sons were all raised in Russia, married Russian wives, and are all in the ministry, a blessing in itself although their English is sometimes a little "off", LOL. He reports that of the thousands and thousands of "missionaries" who went to work in Russia after the iron curtain came down, he and his wife are the only people they know of that are still there. They've grown a very large church in Moscow and are now "circuit-riding", assisted by their sons, to various other cities. Amazing man.
So here's the big question of the morning: do you have any suggestions as to how to keep a down comforter in the proper position within a duvet cover? If so, please lay them on me...........
