I told you a day or so ago that I had two piles of paper to sort through. I underestimated. I've now worked my way through four piles of paper. Holy toledo. That generated a lot of garbage and shredding.
I have dealt with all of it except two little bits. One just needs filed. The other needs to be hole punched and find a home in my planner. The second is the printed list of meds that qualify for the low cost prescription drug program I joined at the local pharmacy. I have learned that it's not gonna do me much good unless I carry it with me because the docs at the free clinic have no idea what qualifies and what doesn't.
I have never been one for collecting knick knacks. To me they have always just been something that needed to be dusted. And we all know how I feel about dusting. But, I may have to hit the thrift store to see what I can pick up. For example, I was looking at the photos I posted of my "new" credenza. Yes, I do keep dog bones on my credenza. I live at this desk and when the pups get brushed, here at my desk, they each get a bone. It's the highpoint of their day. However, I'm thinking the container I store them in doesn't look all that great, LOL. I also have a little old plastic container on my desk--I think it's the container from the store--full of paper clips and binder clips. I am digging in that container all the time so I don't think I want to try to make a home for it inside the desk. However, maybe I could find something CHEAP that would hold massive numbers of paper clips and look better than the plastic container that even still has the original bar code on it.
I know I am supposed to be working in the office today, but I took one minor detour. I saw something on a blog that made me want to run right to my kitchen and rearrange part of the cabinet where my glasses are kept. I have a bunch of these big glasses that have stems. They are pretty big around on the top and, of course, the stems take up less space on the bottom. I've always stored them stems up. I saw that someone else had stored theirs alternating. One up, one down, one up, and so on. I tried that and I managed to create enough space to store my NesQuik and instant coffee directly above my blender. Finally they are off the counter top and still convenient. It only took a few minutes and it looks much better. I felt like I needed to do it right away. First, I was very enthusiastic about the idea. I was also curious to see if it would help, and I'm looking for ways to clear stuff off the counters in my miniature kitchen. So, it was a good thing, even if it was off track.
I have been exhausted today. I don't have a clue what that is all about. I've been getting plenty of rest. But, for some reason, I feel as though I need extra rest today.
I am still looking at cardboard boxes on my bookshelves. I have not tried painting them yet. I did see an idea today that looked doable, cute, and cheap. I noticed where someone covered cardboard boxes with burlap. I think I could make that work if the painting doesn't pan out.
It looks as though my cord solution will arrive on Monday. I'm really excited about that. I am not excited about getting down on the floor and crawling around and trying to make sense of what's down there. But I am going to have to amp up my enthusiasm. And maybe pull out a dust mask........
I finally got my corded mouse installed. I am not having a load of fun trying to design with it, but it beats trying to design with a wireless mouse with a mind of its own. So, I'm going to remember the alternative and smile BIG when I design with my new mouse.
Well, that's about it for my big exciting day. I think maybe I'll watch a movie.
