I'm still exhausted. I literally got 3 hours of sleep Friday night. I tried twice yesterday to go back to bed and it was just totally useless. I did get a good night's sleep last night, but it's not enough to make up for Friday night.
Nothing much went right during the day yesterday. I had picked out a color scheme for the next kit and it just didn't work. So, I sat here and designed a new overlay for dotted papers. I should have just gone on and picked another color scheme, but........I wasn't that functional. I did go through the next 3 kits and make sure everything was in ship shape for those, though, and that's a big job in itself.
I didn't get anywhere near as much done around here as I'd hoped. I did do a decent job on what I got done, just there wasn't enough of it. I scrubbed and scrubbed at that wall by the pet door. It definitely looks better EXCEPT the duct tape residue. I am afraid that NOW the duct tape residue is even MORE visible against the cleaner wall. Now what????????????
Of course, I was down on my hands and knees (down there in dog country) scrubbing the lower part of the wall. I decided while I was down there, I'd wipe down the front vertical surface of the other desk, the side wall of the book case, and whatever else was in reach. Just one problem. I tried to back up and couldn't go anywhere, LOL. I quickly discovered that Parker was standing right behind me with his head resting against my butt. And my efforts to move made absolutely no difference to him. He wasn't moving! I didn't know whether to be angry and frustrated or finally just to laugh. I started laughing. And, finally, I got him to move and got done what I'd been wanting to do.
I am now into the second, tallest pile of shredding. The pile itself is still a good 15 inches high and I have several inches of papers I've gone through and unstapled that are awaiting shredding. But, yes ma'am, those "unstapled" papers are from the second pile. I would still like it to be ALL gone. Yeah, right. I discovered that Joe filed warranty papers in with yearly tax stuff. How in the heck were we ever to find the warranty papers if, indeed, something broke within the warranty period???? I wonder what he did with the file I had set up for warrantys?
I gave up on the idea of just feather dusting in the living room. In the light of day, I could see that it had not done as good a job as I'd hoped here in the office. So I was back to wiping down surfaces in the living room with a wet rag. It takes more time but once I've done it, I have this strange idea it ought to be CLEAN, at least for a day or two........Part of it, I think, is my technique. Also, I think it might work better if done daily as recommended. Like I have time for that........
And, no vacuuming was done. Oh, well........
So, for today, I think I have another idea on a color scheme for that next kit. So, I'll work on that. Hey, at least I have a new paper overlay to try out!
I have actually completed a trip around the office with my dust cloth. It needs vacuumed.
I need to work some more on wiping down furniture in the living room. If I get through that, the floors are waiting fo me.....
Guest room--Put away boxes and start search for buried treasure
Junk room--The search for the ironing board continues
Hall bath--Swish & Swipe
I'm stopping right there. Again, I don't want to keep retyping the same stuff.
I have a dinner date planned with a client, one of my favorite people. Nothing fancy, just good food and good conversation at Applebee's.
So that's what's left of my day as far as I know. I was supposed to have the kids today sometime, but I think in the communication black out caused by the dead battery on the landline phone and the misplacement of the only functional cell phone, that must have bombed. Jen tried to call me 3 times in that period. When I finally found the cell phone, it was midnight. I called her anyway, knowing she sometimes is up really late. I guess she had gone to bed which was a good thing for her. I left a message but I haven't heard back. I am thinking she found someone else because of the blackout.
Eyecandy. You betcha.
Here's a page by Lori. I loved the way she stacked the ribbons to form part of the background of this layout. I also like the way she used the glitter heart. If you look toward the top of the layout, you'll see a bow with a glitter heart on it. That glitter heart was supplied in the kit in a large size. Lori saw the possibilities of shrinking it very small. I think that is such a cute idea. You can leave Lori some love here.
Okay, I was so exhausted that I went back to bed in the middle of this post. So, the clock may say noon, but it's 7AM around here, figuratively speaking. I am just sipping my morning coffee. I think I'd better get moving as this is a REALLY late start for me. YOU be BLESSED today!
